Duke University Hospital

Duke Regional Hospital

For 40 years Duke Regional Hospital has served Durham, Orange, Person, Granville and Alamance counties and the surrounding communities. With more than 1,700 employees, its focus is on providing outstanding medical care with compassionate, personalized service in a comfortable community hospital setting. With 369 inpatient beds, it offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and diagnostic services, including orthopedics, weight-loss surgery, women's services, heart, and vascular services, and offer care at the Duke Rehabilitation Institute and Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center.

Duke Raleigh Hospital

At Duke Raleigh Hospital, the focus is on excellent in-patient care with a commitment to a culture of safety and dedication to high ethical standards. With 186 inpatient beds, we provide a comprehensive array of services, including the Duke Raleigh Cancer Center, Duke Raleigh Orthopedic and Spine Center, cardiovascular services, neurosciences including the Duke Raleigh Skull Base and Cerebrovascular Center, advanced digestive care, disease management and prevention, wound healing, outpatient imaging, intensive and progressive care, pain clinic, same-day surgery, emergency department and community outreach and education programs. 

Duke Life Flight

Helicopter Transport

As a critical part of our program, each aircraft is staffed with a pilot and two highly trained critical care providers. Coordinated by our communications center, we respond to the scene and work with the local emergency services personnel to stabilize the patient for air transport to Duke University Hospital.


Helicopter transports account for nearly 20% of Duke Life Flight’s overall volume with over 800 critical care transport cases a year including: 

  • Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump
  • Nitric Oxide Ventilation
  • Transport Isolette
