PRMO – Family Care Coordinators and Financial Care Counselors

Duke Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) – a fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization supporting all of Duke Health, including Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Private Diagnostic Clinic, and Duke Primary Care – has immediate opportunities for Compliance Specialists with excellent organizational, communication and analytics skills.


Specifically, the PRMO has the following scope of responsibility:

  • Strategic revenue cycle management for DUHS hospitals, PDC/CPDC and DPC
  • Patient access services (Service Access) include patient registration and intake, pre-visit estimations and financial counseling. There is a liaison relationship with hospital case management
  • Charge capture/entry, charge description, master management and liaison relationship with entity charge management and coding services
  • Billing and collections on total annual gross revenue base of $7.5 billion
  • Cash management, payment application and credit balance resolution for approximately $2.4 billion in cash collections
  • Patient customer service for all telephone and correspondence inquiries

The Strategic objectives for the PRMO include:

  • Achieving outstanding service to physicians and other internal customers
  • Operating cost-effectively
  • Leveraging leading-edge technology, where appropriate
  • Reducing operational complexities
  • Developing a skilled and accountable workforce

This includes over 40 different specialized work centers, a large point of care testing program and phlebotomy across all of Duke Health.  We employ a wide range of practices; from high-throughput, highly automated testing in our hematology, chemistry, and immunoassay laboratories, to specialized mass spectrometry and molecular-based testing in many of our subspecialty labs, to direct patient care by our transfusion services physicians.


Last year, our 850 clinical laboratorians delivered over 10 million results to support the care of the many hundreds of thousands of patients who came to Duke.
